Our Story

The
Blue Top Hat® is a mother-daughter owned company that was begun as an
answer to the question of what to get a best friend for a wedding gift
and turned into a
fun way for my mother and I to stay connected across two coasts,
California to Virginia.
Our company evolved over several years from our first wedding gift given to some of our best friends. They loved the gift and it got such a response from friends while opening it that they encouraged us to find a way to make a business out of it. From there we created gifts as we needed them for friends.
Over time our concept of what is needed in the industry has evolved. We continue to create meaningful gifts to enhance relationships while also offering expert advice on the Art of Gift Giving. We love what we do and thank you for your interest in your company!
Our company was begun with a small inheritance left to Alana by her mother and in honor of Ruth Sanders, (grandmother to Kendall and mother to Alana), and in the spirit of "Gifts for a Happily Ever After", the staff at The Blue Top Hat® has decreed that 5% of our net sales will be donated to the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA. This was a cause very near and dear to Mrs. Sanders' heart. This is a private, non-profit charity that is supported almost entirely by donations. Visit their website at www.sdhumane.org.
